broody Blackie

My hen has gone broody, just like Buffy did, so I set a dozen fertile eggs underneath her to hatch.  In about 3 weeks there should be some Spring chickage - stay tuned!

meet Buford

A pure bread Bloodhound has been hanging around the farm in the mornings - Cozy loves him and he wants to come inside the house really badly

Dubbed Buford, it's not clear who he belongs to or where he lives, but it's been fun having him play with Max & Cozy - he is a beautiful, gentle dog, and those Bloodhound ears are pure velvet!

Vintage screen door

Hand painted logo for Bunny Bread

Bunny Bread has been around for a while, and they have an amazingly weird web site here:

Make sure you click on the flat screen TV in the living room and watch the retro bread ads.  You can also change the color of the curtains.

just wanna pee

Max, despite his sweet and funny disposition, brotherly love of Cozy and all-around amaze-dog qualities, he still wants to "mark" in the house.  The vet said the reason they continue to do this into adulthood is anxiety, for which she wrote a prescription for him for: doggie Prozac.  I am hesitant to give him this but she assures me it will not make him into a zombie, just reduce his feelings of insecurity.  I am skeptical, but will trust her advice.

passing through

When I go out to the big barn I walk through a series of long paddocks to get over to the chicken coop. While it involved deconstructing some of the very old wood (saved for later use), I decided to take down a few low walls creating an easy walkway through from the entryway to the chickens & bunnies.  Here is how the passage looked before we removed some wood.

So much better - I hung my big wooden star for decoration

The view from the entryway - the chickens are watching!
