Just when I think I'm a pretty good canner and preserver, my ultra pal Laurie gives me a gift of what she's been canning and it blows me out of the water.  A recent gift from her included:  cherry pie filling, tomato paste, pear & five spice chutney, peach-chipotle jam, and the following crayon box of fruit curds:  lemon, blueberry, lime, pink grapefruit, apricot and cherry.  And did I mention that not counting the citrus, she GREW all of the fruits and ingredients for everything?  Yeah, she did.

When I've gone down to open up the big barn in the mornings the past week, I find my little black barn cat snuggled up to Licky, one of the rabbits.  They are about the same size are sit close together out in the snowy hen yard, waiting for their breakfast.  It is beautiful to see.
