veggie scotch eggs
Scotch eggs are a traditional British snack - a hard boiled egg is wrapped in pork sausage, breaded and fried, and served with mustard or some type of sauce
I made a vegetarian version with 'Gimme Lean' (suppose to sound like Jimmy Dean - ha) veggie sausage. A toast to the Queen's Silver Jubilee today!

some awesome things in the U.P.
Trenary Toast , made in Trenary, Michigan, is toasted bread that has one side coated in thick cinnamon sugar. We couldn't stop eating them.
I visited the Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point and learned all about the 'Graveyard of the Great Lakes' - the stretch of coast where dozens of ships have gone down, including the Edmund Fitzgerald - it was fascinating and sad
