RIP Owl + Whitey

A predator got inside the coop and through the hen door the other night and killed two of my beautiful chickens, Owl + Whitey.  I found one of the bodies and buried her in the woods.  It was a humbling lesson about life on a farm.  No matter how secure you think you have made your animals, nothing is impenetrable.  I felt horrible about it.  I even had tickets to go see the midnight screening of the RUSH documentary at the Traverse City Film Festival and didn't go - I was just too sad.
