I've been wanting to get the chickens tame enough to where I might pet them, or hold one in my lap. When I worked in Maine, I had a chicken fall asleep while I was petting it once. My girls are mellow around me but not if I try to touch them, so I figured step one in getting them used to my hands is to hold something they can't resist: food. Here, Whitey, Silver and Goldie all stepped right up - we're off to a good start. There's one of the Owl sisters in the background - check out her fluffy cheeks!
