My friend Bob Andersen in Detroit has been looking up old Michigan census records, and found the Dean family who settled this farm in the mid-1800s. I put a faint red circle around the details (double click to open the image in a separate, larger window), but you can clearly read the names of the family members who were living here in 1920. They included Frank + Allie Dean, who were the original homesteaders of the land. Kingsley was called Paradise Township at that time, which couldn't be a more appropriate name.
